An open letter to our Brave Care community

We stand against Asian hate

An open letter to our Brave Care community

To the Brave Care Community:

We at Brave Care have been mourning the victims—and for their families—from last week’s senseless shootings in Atlanta. During the past week, we’ve been thinking deeply about both our AAPI community and our relationship with you; We’re acutely aware of the fear, anger, frustration, confusion, and grief people are feeling. To be clear: We stand in full support of everyone in the AAPI community, and vehemently condemn hate, racism, and xenophobic actions.

Brave Care exists to provide exceptional care that’s inclusive and accessible to all—no matter the family’s socioeconomic status, geographic location, abilities, religion, political affiliations, or personal beliefs. In doing so, we seek to create a safe place for patients, families, providers, and staff—one that is compassionate, inclusive, and anti-racist.

We acknowledge that we need to do more at Brave Care to support not just our staff, but the community and the families we serve. One of our core values at Brave Care is to “advocate for others.” With that said, I’m calling on our community to do the same. Contribute to creating a safe community for your family and others. Please join us.

Thank you,
Maryam Taheri
